Marcus looked at Delphine and shrugged, "At least it gets us out of the open market..." He motioned for her to follow Loch and brought up the rear, keeping an eye out for anyone noticing them. |

The group stepped carefully into the tent and were overwhelmed with the smell of ancient leathers and burning incense. Loch wondered if his mother's objections stemmed from the amount of time it would take to get this particular smell out of his clothes alone.
There were what appeared to be knickknacks lining tables that filled the tent and large masks hanging from tentpoles that looked be left over from the Great War. The tent was larger inside than it seemed from the marketplace, but that wasn't uncommon in the larger markets.
A young man stepped from the back of the tent, greeting them and offering them several specials that they were having at the moment. Marcus got a glimpse at someone else at the back of the tent sitting in a large wicker chair, burn marks along the edges of the armrests. He only had a moment, but the old man seated in the chair looked familiar, but not exactly like anyone he knew in particular.
"...from the mountains of Gradjuara, they make excellent spices and salves, good sirs, and over here we have healing balms and potions for protection from evil spirits. What are you in the market for today?" The younger man inquired. |

Loch strode up to the man, and shook his hand.
"Good afternoon sir. My friends and I were just passing, by, and I could not help but enter your tent. I have some talent with the arts, and I am always looking for curiosities. Do you have anything perhaps, especially out of the ordinary?" |

"Out of the ordinary is our specialty. We sell precious items ranging from the very old to the very far away from home variety. If it is something special you seek, let me show you our own family's collection of rare antiquities. We would never sell these items.... except for maybe the right price..." He explained.
He led them closer to the back of the tent and uncovered a case housing a number of interesting trinkets. Loch could feel a vague sense of power flowing from them, yet it was strongly masked by something else nearby. He glanced around, but the only thing he saw was a nasty looking cat eating a mouse in the corner. |

Delphine stumbles back a few steps and refocuses on the case. She begins visibly searching the room for additional exits. "What an interesting case; what is it's history?" |

Loch smiled,
"Ahh, this is precisely the things I look for. My collection is based around illusion artifacts. Do any of these pieces have such abilities?" |

"Illusions, illusions, illusions, hmmmm, yes, I may have a few items in that vein, but they won't be in that case here. Come this way, I will show you some other items that might be more to your liking." The young man motioned for them to follow, walking back towards the front of the tent.
Delphine took a few steps then turned back at the sound of a voice coming from the corner of the room. She was certain that the old man in the wicker chair had spoken something to her in a whisper, but she couldn't quite make it out. She started to walk away, but this time the voice was clearer.
"The piece is very old and has its own curiosities.... but you knew that already...." |

Delphine turned toward the old man and replied "I know the case is dark and dangerous. Please tell me what you know". |

Marcus stepped over to the case and leaned in a little to examine the items. He even squinted a little, trying to figure out what was so 'dark and dangerous' about them... after a moment he just shook his head and turned to see what the old man might say. |

The man did not move as he answered, and Marcus could barely make out the movement of his mouth.
"I (drawing out the word) would not say it is dark, but dangerous, perhaps? One does not flirt with the powers of the world without knowing the inherent risks. You three should know better than most. Mistress, this case should be of no concern of yours, your problems lie elsewhere." The old man wore a painfully crooked grin, seeming to be quite pleased with himself.
Delphine knew he was speaking derisively to her, but could not tell the reason for his insult (mistress). |

Marcus frowned. "Enough riddles old man. Speak plainly. If you know something, then out with it already!" |

Delphine leans in to Marcus, "the old man is right, the case is not my problem now. However I believe this 'gentleman' knows or is involved with the torture. I've seen this tent before." |

The old man smiled wider, a grotesque display of his rotted teeth between his thin lips. "Ahahaha... now torture is something you should be concerned with, it plays such a stronger role in your future. Mistress, you I shall definitely enjoy." He chuckled.
Myrddin stood in front of a large shelf holding many small trinkets. The young man assured him that one of these items would fulfill his needs. Loch looked up from the trinkets, but the young man was no longer there. |

Hearing the old man's statement, Marcus interposed himself between the him and Delphine.
"Careful old man. This woman is not without friends. I suggest you remain seated and explain yourself." |
