The case seemed completely ordinary, but as Loch approached, the hairs on his feet began to stand up with a pulse of electricity not his own. He couldn't see a source, only that it was close to the ground.

Delphine moved toward the case and attempted to move it. When it didn't budge, she called for help. "I have seen the entry to the dungeon and I believe it lies under this case. Let's move it to see if I am correct."

Marcus walked over and gestured the others back a bit. He then put a shoulder against the cabinet and attempted to forcefully shove it to the side.

The case provided resistance, but then gave way and Marcus had to keep it from tipping over. It slid over far enough to clear the space it occupied on the floor. Other than the marks in the dirt where the legs were, the floor seemed normal.

In my vision the dungeon where lilian is being held is underground and can be reached through a hole in the floor. I know the entrance is in this tent. Loch, do you think the rune opens the hole?

Loch stared at the door for a few moments. Finally he looked up and said, "it's worth a shot. Stand back, who knows what this might do." He waved them back, and when they had moved away, he took a deep breath, stretched forth his hands, focused his concentration, and spoke the rune.

As the word lifted from his lips, the air in the room grew darker, colors seemed deeper. The light in the room seemed to be closing in on the case. Loch could see the rune shining onto the ground below, emanating from the bottom of the case. There was no door visible, though Delphine knew it to be there.

She stepped forward, puzzled, searching.

Suddenly, the case collapsed into a singularity and a black void filled its space. It appeared as a mirror in which no light could escape.

Delphine walked toward the void and peered into the mirror. She slowly reached her hand and touched the mirror.

Loch quickly stepped forward and grabbed her hand back. "My apologies mistress, but one must be extremely careful around unknown magic. If you would please allow me?"

He stepped forward and focused his concentration on the void in front of him, his fingertips glowed as he used magic to see if he could ascertain anything about the portal.

Loch could feel the energy pulsing from the open portal. It was a low powered portal, meant for travelling short distances. He couldn't tell where it would lead, but he could feel its energy dragging down into the earth. He could tell it was recharging by the energy it consumed from the ether, it had been used in the recent past.

Loch lowered his hands and turned to Marcus, "it shouldn't lead us too far away. We need to get it of here anyway, it won't be long before someone comes back to this tent. Follow me."

With that, he took a deep breath and entered the portal.

Delphine grabbed Marcus' and stepped through the portal with purpose...

The world around them collapsed and then spun back open in a whirl of color then darkness. When their eyes adjusted, they were standing in a dark tunnel, Myrddin just a few steps away. There were torches lining the walls and down the tunnel about 100 yards there was an opening into another room. They could hear the voices of the damned, wailing and tortured echoing down the hallways. It was a painful sound, weighing so heavily on their hearts, they wouldn't bear it much longer.

Marcus clenched his fists and his jaw against the noise. His eyes narrowed and he muttered, "Let's go," as he began striding purposefully down the corridor.
